SideSnap ("the Application") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Data Collection

SideSnap does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All application data is stored locally on your device.

Information Stored Locally

The Application stores the following data on your local device only:

• Application Settings: Theme preferences, sidebar position, auto-hide settings, opacity, and visual style choices
• Folder Shortcuts: Paths to folders you've added to the sidebar
• PowerShell Commands: Custom commands you've created
• Window Layouts: Saved window positions and arrangements
• Window Rules: Auto-positioning rules for applications
• Quick Notes: Text notes you've created
• Clipboard History: Recent clipboard items (stored locally, never transmitted)
• Todo Lists: Tasks and project information you've created

All data is stored in:

• Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\SideSnap\ directory
• Data is saved as JSON files on your local machine
• No cloud synchronization or remote storage

Data Usage

• All data remains on your local device
• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking
• No internet connection required for any features
• No advertisements or third-party tracking

Third-Party Services

SideSnap does not use any third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools.

Windows Registry Access

The Application modifies the Windows Registry only for the following purposes:

• Startup Configuration: Adding/removing the application from Windows startup (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run)
• No other registry modifications are performed

Permissions

The Application requires the following permissions:

• File System Access: To access folders you've added as shortcuts
• Process Management: To position and manage application windows
• Clipboard Access: To provide clipboard history feature (data stored locally only)
• Registry Access: To enable/disable startup with Windows

Data Security

• All data is stored locally on your device with standard Windows file permissions
• The Application does not transmit any data over the internet
• No user authentication or accounts required
• No passwords or sensitive credentials are stored

Children's Privacy

SideSnap does not knowingly collect any information from children. The Application does not require or request any personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted in the application and on our website.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

• Delete application data by uninstalling SideSnap
• Data files can be manually deleted from %LOCALAPPDATA%\SideSnap\
• No account deletion required (no accounts exist)
